Budgets, contributions and cash
This is the project funding balance: money contributed minus the research budget and recorded costs. It is not a bank balance or an amount automatically owed to Max.
The $200 research budget appears once for each month from June onward. The business cards cost $184 and were purchased September 12. Bobby gave $100 on September 19. As we reconcile expenses, actual costs replace the corresponding budget entries.
A monthly pledge helps us plan. Each completed Square payment appears in this ledger after Square confirms the receipt and processing fee, with checks scheduled every 15 minutes. Each payment appears once, with its fee shown underneath and the net amount added to the running balance. Payments by other methods appear after Max verifies and records them. Earmarked or held money is tracked separately when we reconcile the accounts. The monthly commitment is the amount supporters give. The monthly gap uses what remains after the fee on their latest matching Square payments; the first $10 payment had a 63¢ fee. When we don’t have matching fee information, we show the gap before fees.
